4noggins Bulk: PAINTER HILLS

Fabulous.

4 Noggins Painter Hills strikes me as what 'Revelation' could have been. The tobacco is better in quality and strength and the 'Revelation' flavouring - at the forefront of the bowl - doesn't last and doesn't distract. Years ago on Ebay I scored a 12 ounce (net weight) red plastic bucket of 'Revelation Smoking Mixture'. It lasted a long time. It was my tobacco when everything else had been smoked. I never really liked it. But '4 Noggins Painter Hills' is a superior blend in the same mellow tradition as 'Revelation'. The topping isn't overdone and it is far more satisfying. Recommended.

Let me just say, I like straight tobaccos and am NOT a fan of toppings of any sort. But this blend has such a light topping, it only accentuates the flavor of the fine tobaccos. It's a marvelous smoking blend. I would never put Painter Hills in the "flavored tobacco" category, but in a place of it's own it richly deserves. Thank You, 4 Noggins!

I tried this in a briar and thought it was awful. Smoking again in straight meer and it's danged brilliant! Pipe makes all the difference, here. Loving it in a meer, man!

A good friend sent me two ounces of this and it was an immediate favourite. As another reviewer said, I don't care for toppings but this one is so mild and so perfect for this blend it is easy to not notice the topping. For me, a lover of strong English blends, this milder offering is a great all day smoke.
