This blend includes Virginias, Burleys, Original Cavendish, Dark Fired Kentucky, Orientals and, of course, a fair amount of Acadian Perique. The HH Acadian Perique has no top flavor at all which means that you will only enjoy the tobacco taste. When smoked, you will experience no tongue bite and this blend will smoke to the bottom, leaving only grey ash. It is a rich, flavorful and very satisfying smoke.

I wish to apologise for only giving Mac Baren HH Arcadian Perique 4 stars. This was my mistake. Definitely a 5 star blend. Not a weak tobacco and very highly recommended. Understated, old fashioned, straight tobacco brilliance that just takes a little time to fully appreciate, hence my earlier mistake. Perhaps another tobacco in a league all of its own.
MacBaren HH Arcadian Perique took me some time. This is an unusual, quality blend. The Perique stays very much in the background and combines with a solid mixture of predominately Virginia to produce a deeply resonant tobacco. The slower you take it the sweeter it is. I'd describe it as course ribbon and find it benefits from being cut up into smaller pieces, aired and packed lightly. All that said, this isn't a Virginia/Perique, for the other tobaccos seem to cushion but strengthen the smoke. Definitely a middle-of-the-road flavour profile but a lot more than that. Just remember that it's solidly different, mellow, relights well and is of medium strength. If in doubt try it out!
