I admit I was pretty harsh in my last review on Carter Hall. I decided to give it several more tries to see if there is any change in my outlook. This time I made a more serious attempt to put more focus in the details of smoking a pipe including smoking the pipe outdoors in the cold crisp winter air in Canada where the notes of the smoke are more vibrant. I noticed a consistant significant improvement in my experience with Carter Hall. I actually detected notes that were mildly pleasant to where I can honestly say that its unoffensive and worth continuing to smoke the rest of my small stash that I just purchased without contempt. Would I buy it again. Probably not. There are other codgers that I find more pleasant such as the Captain Black line or the Lane products. that said im giving it a 3 out of 5.

What a huge disappointment. Its a whole lot of nothing. Might as well smoke shredded paper or even yet, sawdust. I dont understand its popularity. It was like sucking in air. Can I get a refund for this Carter Has No Balz ??
