There are so many English blends out there that sometimes it is hard to decide on where to start. Having tried about a dozen of English blends, if someone were to ask me what would be a great intro to English blends, this blend would be what I would suggest. The black cavendish makes it noticeably sweet and generous amount of burley makes it easy burning smoke, solid virginia provides good range of high notes, and lastly discreet amount of Latakia makes this blend mildly English. However, some may not like how sweet this blend can be. If you are looking for a straight English with a bit more Latakia with no sweetening Cavendish, Proper English or Balkan Supreme would be good choices.
