I was very disappointed by this blend. It is described in such a way that I expected a hearty Latakia experience. Sadly, although I can see the Latakia in the blend, and I can smell it in the tin, there is very little Latakia taste that comes through the pipe, from first to last puff. It's not bad. But I would not describe it as a heavy Latakia blend. Maybe as an introduction for a newby who isn't used to Latakia? But not for the seasoned smoker who knows what he wants, and expects what is described. I give it a neutral rating because it is still a smoke, but it would be higher if the Latakia content could be detected more. Marlin Flake is the best Rattray's I've tried so far. With still a few to go. But this one just didn't make it and I'm hoping to swap off the remainder after two bowls next meet of our pipe club. Somebody must like it. Somewhere. But I won't buy this one again.
