Having smoked 1792 off and on for years I must raise my earlier (tinned version) rating of 3 stars to 5 Stars. 1792 should be taken mostly dry, but it can be really wonderful smoked moist. Either way, you must sip! When you learn to rest easy and draw gently it can be a long and delightful experience. I now tend to 3/4s fill medium bowl pipes when I'm looking for a lingering smoke that relights well (within reason). This is a classic blend with which you can experiment in terms of cut, rubbing out, packing, moisture and pipe bowl combinations. If you keep at it you'll discover a value for money, truly satisfying flake of real distinction. And properly hoarded away this will only get better over time.
